The Shane Brothers are the writer- director team
of Andre Shane and John Shane based in Chicago Illinois. ‘ Shotgun
Love’ marks the Shane brothers second movie together after the
1998 short ‘ The Interview’.
Andre
Shane currently splits his time between working as a freelance
writer/producer and shooting indie film, music videos, and commercials.
Andre’s last picture was another short called ‘ Odds’,
which Andre wrote and directed and was a finalist in the 2001 First
Glance Film Competition. He lives in the Chicago area surrounded by
four beautiful women: his wife, daughter, and 2 cats.
John
Shane works as a freelance editor and web/graphic designer. John
wrote and directed another short entitled ‘Male
Order’, which was an official selection at the 2002 New York
Film and Video festival where it was screened both in New York and Los
Angeles. For kicks, John plays keyboards in the Chicago rock outfit
‘Loaded’.
Sam
Porretta - “ Dino”
Sam Porretta plays the lead character of ‘ Dino’. Sam is
one of Chicago’s brightest young actors. He studied at The Professional
Studio Program, The School of Russian Art Theater, Plasticene, The Training
Center and many more. He has appeared in many plays at Steppenwolf,
Redmoon, Center and many more. He has also done many independent films
over the last few years. His versatility and skill is extraordinary.
This is the first time Sam has collaborated with either of the Shane
brothers, but hopefully not the last.
Laura
Coleman- “ Alma”
Laura Coleman plays ‘ Alma’. Laura is one of Chicago’s
leading young actresses and Shotgun Love marks her first venture into
producing. Laura graduated from Michigan State and National-Louis University.
She has received numerous awards for her Chicago theater work and is
a founding member of the Artistic Home Acting Ensemble. This is the second
time Laura has worked with one of the Shane brothers. In 2002 she was
featured in John Shane’s ‘ Male Order’.
